Anyone out there rated at 100 P&T and never filed a NOD or a new claim after receiving their 100%? If so, can you tell me how long did the VA wait after your initial rating of 100 before they re-evaluated your PTSD and/or MDD? I heard even if your P&T that they have several anniversary dates, such as, 2 yrs, 5 years, 10 yrs and just before 20 yrs. Please chime in....

I am 100% P&T for major depression with PTSD features (exactly how it is stated) It has been six years now, and never re-evaluated, and I have not filed any new claims, although still debating on whether or not to do so.

I'd like to know this too!
It's more than likely been discussed several times over on this board through the years. Maybe a search will be helpful?

I have a question regarding a 100% PTSD claim. Does your family members get free medical care also? When does the family members get free medical care. I appoligise if this has been discussed elsewhere here on the site I couldn't find it anywhere.

It is my understanding that your family is only eligible for CHAMPVA unless you already have TRI-CARE for being active duty or retired. Anyone else feel free to chime in..

Ok, what we have experienced, is you can sign your dependants up for champ va, once you have recieved 100% pt , I have contact info if you need, you do not need tri care before you get champ va, in my opinion.

May God bless and keep you.

Your spouse and childeren are eligible when you get the 100%, if you have any other kind of insurance, like Tricare, Medicare, or insurance through a spouses employer etc, Champva becomes your secondary insurance. Otherwise, any Doc who takes Tricare will take Champva, and the coverage is pretty similar.

I hope I didn't confuse anyone when I mentioned about Tri-Care. I wanted to let everyone know that if you have Tri-Care you can't have CHAMPVA. It's one or the other. However, if you have another form of insurance; you can use CHAMPVA as a secondary.

Next question I have. Does it have to be a 100% in one area or can it be total say that adds up to 100% ie. Like 30% for IBS, 50% PTSD, 10% headaches, and 10% tinnitus. Making a total of 100%. Or does it have to be 100% PTSD , or 100% IBS or something similiar. I'm sorry for all the questions but I'm still fairly new to the VA game. I've only been fighting my claims for about a year now. I'm a long way from 100%. I'm only at 10% for tinnitus and 10% for Fibro. Have pending claims for PTSD, Sleep Apnea, and headaches. I have appeals going for IBS and Restless Leg Syndrome. I also filed for Chronic Fatigue also but they denied it and said it was from Sleep Apnea which I feel they will deny also.

Thanks everyone for all the replys. You guys and this site has been very helpful. It's nice to have others to confied in that are fighting the same struggle as I am.

100% is 100% however the formula to reach 100 is not as simple as adding 50 plus 50 = 100 or 60 plus 20 plus 20 = 100. There's a different formula. I can tell you that you won't get SC for sleep apnea unless you had a record of it in your military records. You probably won't get more than 30 for IBS. PTSD is a different. If you want the inside secret how to guarantee SC for your IBS, PTSD, Headaches send me a PM with your contact info.
