Perhaps veterans should start pushing for recording of actual physical data via pictures etc?
Greatest trick of all time. Never record actual pictures of the multiple skin problems we have. Go to the CDC you will often see actual pictures of diseases as such.
Many people are the show me type. If they cant see some kind of physical evidence to convince them they simply side with authorities in those cases.
I personally think need to build a picture database for the Gulf War veterans. Nothing fancy, but something to hand the press and Sec of VA when they start stating it don't exist. Ask them to take the time to publish a few of these pictures. I for one will sign any release form required for the few I have submitted. I feel many other veterans probably would to if you avoid showing their faces for privacy reasons.
I know many of you have the same skin problems I do or worse. If the VA wants to fight this and say it don't exist then we need to start showing the ugly actual side of this with PROOF. If your relying on the VA to do this it won't happen. 25 to 50 bucks buys a digital camera and if you can operate a cell phone now days, then you can operate one of those. Many digital cameras come with software programs that make sending the pictures a snap. Keep a database of your bad days and back up the pictures to multiple cd copies once every 60 days or so....

I'll run it by Gary and Wanda, but I don't think they will have a problem with it. We can give the members the option of disclosing their names or not.
We might include the Agent Orange folks, as they also have skin conditions, like Chloracne, from their exposures to the herbicide. Agnes Bresnahan (Irish) has it from her exposures to it while at Ft McClellan many years ago.
I tried to call Wanda and Gary earlier, but no one was home. Don't know if they're just enjoying the weekend, or having to evacuate because of Gustav. They live in Houston. We may need to wait a few days until they can be contacted.
