2 June 2000
Dear Friends,
You will be pleased to know that a small but powerful bill will be introduced by Rep.
Helen Chenoweth (of Idaho), next week. No number yet, but this is your advance
notice. We expect it to be introduced by June 15.
We need your endorsement, and your help to pass this bill.
The Citizen Soldier Protection Act of 2000
1. Prevents the US government from
FORCING American forces into
foreign uniforms, including those of
the United Nations.
2. Prevents the US government from
FORCING American forces to serve
under foreign officers, including the
United Nations.
This bill does not go far enough to please many people, since it will not prevent U.N.
deployments with American volunteers, but it does protect a key element of American
sovereignty, the sovereignty of the Citizen Soldier, who may not be forced into
involuntary servitude as a mercenary!
Please help us find co-sponsors in the House. Write your Representative
today.
Please help us find endorsements from every organization of which you are a member.
(We'll soon publish a list of endorsing organizations. We already have
several, but are awaiting formal notice.)
Please help us find a Senate sponsor. Please call or write to one of the following:
Senator Bob Smith (New Hampshire)
Senator James M. Inhofe (Oklahoma)
Senator Jesse Helms (North Carolina)
Senator Phil Gramm (Texas)
