When I left they were still trying to get the first computers working. E-MAIL was an Enlisted person running over reports to the OIC The only offices that had carpet WAS "THE OLD MAN" Thus the term "ON THE CARPET" Was not good.,I spent some time standing on the "CARPET" getting my a-- chewed-out a few times.
The flt line was my office and we'd say OH SH*# ! we're out of gatorade in the truck !
