A young 19 female, I've recently met was telling me they were in the OK Air Guard for only 6-months about a year ago. She went on to tell me she received an “Honorable Discharge” and was shy about telling me why and then said because I tried to “hang myself” while in technical school at Keesler AFB, MS. She went on to say she spent one night at Keesler (because, mental health spreads fast) before she was sent to the Biloxi VA and was discharged 3-days later. She also told me while at Lackland she had shin splints bad enough that there was talk of a discharge if they did not start healing.
After she returned home she was diagnosed Bi-Polar.
My questions are: Can anything be done to help her? If so, what? File a claim like everyone else?

Did she have shin splints before the military or was she Bi-Polar before. If not she needs to go talk to a person in the VA system. My wife is getting 10% and she didn't get out of boot camp. The information I would give her is go to the VA hospital in her area and start asking questions.

She needs to go see a Rep,but if not mistaken on good authority "BI-POLAR" isnt Service connected compensated. Shin splints might be,but She'll have to prove it. If she has questions have her come to the board and ask.
