This may be a sign that Togus is "less busy" and therefore taking other boards. I have found them to be reasonable. I was rated well, I think they honestly try to compensate veterans. They will cite everything, I mean everything - for me even calling in sick to an appointment was noted: as in my Fibro pain kept me from an appointment and they considered this in my fibro rating. If you have documentation you should do fine Maine has a reputation of rating high. It is the second highest rating location in the US. Good Luck

I don't know. I think HI or NM are #1, can't remember. I do know Maine is #2 - and they kind of pride themselves - we do have low population which I think helps. I think the lower population states - you fare better. Less people to pay. Less people to serve.

Thanks Test Vet - good to know about NM. I am moving to Florida for the weather, if it doesn't work out - well I have looked to NM before . . . Went to Togus today - such a good day there I almost hate to leave their care. Don't get me wrong there are some bad eggs - but mostly I DO think they try to be on the Veterans side. We tried this before. We now know #1 NM #2 Maine HI - not so good. Who else is good/bad?

Hey everybody! :-) Yep - know the south. I also imagine that most of my claims will have been processed here in Maine before heading there. As a matter of fact the VA is driving me to stay in Maine for now. When I get to Florida, I plan to locate in Gainesville - a little less "retired" then other parts of the state - but you are right the lines will be longer. Really . . . if you can take winter - I do recommend Maine. Low cost of living. Pretty good VA.
